ONE Health Information Technology Services (ONE HITS) is a shared service organization that provides information technology, information systems, and related support services, on a non-profit basis, to hospitals and other healthcare organizations across northern Ontario.
ONE HITS’ vision is being achieved through the implementation of a health information system managed by ONE HITS. The ONE HIS supports 23 acute care facilities, creating a single digital patient record for every person in northern Ontario.

The health information system managed by ONE HITS is a healthcare information system platform built from scratch with integrated standards to ensure the same workflows across all hospital sites.
ONE Health Information System is a secure system that collects, stores, and transmits a patient’s medical history. An electronic medical record is a digital version of a patient’s chart, containing their health and treatment history. An electronic representation of patient information facilitates that patients transferred from one participating care provider organization to another will not have to undergo duplicate tests or tell their medical “story” over and over.
ONE HIS enables healthcare providers to collaborate and access the most up-to-date and accurate information, which is essential in providing high quality patient care and creating better outcomes for all.
