Count Down to 1st Wave 2 Go-Live:
The ONE (one person, one record, one system) Initiative is a north east region-wide transformational project to improve the delivery of patient and family-centred care through the creation of a single electronic health information system (HIS), built with a common set of standards. The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance safe, evidence based and patient & family focused care through a clinical transformation enabled through workflow redesign and supported through technology systems.
ONE Initiative Benefits
The ONE Initiative and the transition to MEDITECH Expanse represents a substantial change for each participating hospital. The transformation will ultimately benefit everyone who gives, receives, or supports the delivery of care in ONE Initiative hospitals.
Here are some of the specific benefits:

Generational transformation – new system goes live October 1
I find admission orders are easier to organize in the new system than when they were done on paper, which often involved going through five sheets trying to remember what goes on what page. In the new system, you can see the orders when you enter them and before you submit them. The orders are thorough, serve as very good reminders and provide options for you to consider that you would not have necessarily thought of on your own.

It has been remarkable. Eighteen months ago, just before go-live, our clinical team was concerned about how they could live with the new MEDITECH Expanse system. Last week one of our nurse leaders remarked on how essential the system has become, and wondered how we would have made it through COVID and Accreditation without it.
